Brent Youth Radio, based in the heart of London’s Brent, continues the legacy of the Project 74A High Street Harlesden initiative from the 1980s. Evolving from a community-driven agenda, we are proud to carry forward ideas and missions that remain as relevant today as they were decades ago. Our commitment to empowering young people, fostering creativity, and promoting positive social change is timeless—growing alongside the future of youth culture.

Our mission is to provide a Brent health matters, media platform where young people can explore and develop audio and visual content creation. Through this, we shall provide an alternative to traditional engagement, encouraging youth to develop skills, express themselves, and take control of their narratives. In doing so, we support wellbeing and work towards crime prevention in a way that resonates with young people, using the language and cultural expressions they understand.

We are dedicated to ensuring that our programming is always accessible, relevant, and reflective of the vernacular, arts, and street culture that define the youth we serve. The core of our work is rooted in nurturing a sense of empowerment, with young people being mentored by adults who genuinely care and understand the importance of offering new, innovative approaches to youth engagement.

Looking to the future, we aim to collaborate with Brent Council, public health services, and community organizations, ensuring that our work is connected with the broader initiatives in the area. By doing so, we can continue to address youth challenges while creating positive pathways forward.
